15 100 th anniversary The Community of Saint Spyridon joyfully announces its Centennial Celebration in 2027, commemorating one hundred years of Greek Orthodox Christian presence in San Diego! Saint Spyridon The presence of this sacred community stands as a profound tes- tament to faith, perseverance, and cultural continuity. For a cen- tury, Saint Spyridon has preserved the rich liturgical traditions and Hellenic heritage of Orthodoxy while serving as a corner- stone of spiritual life, fellowship and service for generations of faithful. From the earliest immigrant families who planted the seeds of faith in a new land, to today’s vibrant congregation, the community has stood as a beacon of Orthodox Christianity. Beyond the walls of the church, this community has enriched the wider society through philanthropy, cultural festivals, education, and faith outreach. It has served as a bridge between the old world and the new, honoring ancestral roots while contribut- ing meaningfully to the broader cultural fabric of the Hillcrest neighborhood and beyond! As we begin our journey into the next 100 years, we cordially invite to join us at the 56th Annual San Diego Greek Festival in June of 2027.
