May this new year bring love and peace to our families and strength to our community. I am happy to share that our Greek School is thriving, and I would love to update our community on the wonderful things happening as we be- gin the new year. END OF FALL SEMESTER & BEGINNING OF SPRING SEMESTER We have successfully completed our Fall Semester, and we are excited to begin the Spring Semester with renewed energy and dedication. Our 75 students (both children and adults) have worked hard, and we are proud of their progress. EXAMS & PARENT-TEACHER MEETINGS Please note that our end-of-semester exams and parent-teacher meetings for the chil- dren’s classes will take place on Thursday, January 8th and Friday, January 9th . End of semester exams will be help 5pm to 6pm and then at 6pm the teachers will receive the par- ents in their class. These meetings are an important opportu- nity to review each student’s progress and discuss goals for the spring semester. We kindly remind all parents and guardians that their attendance is expected, as your presence helps strengthen the partnership between home and school and ensures the best sup- port for our students. During the same week, we will also hold exams for our adult classes. OUR SCHOOL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM – DREAMCLASS We are pleased to inform you that our school has been using DreamClass, a new school management program (developed and led by a Greek company in Greece!), with great success since this past June. It has already streamlined registrations, fee collections and invoicing, attendance, and grades. Starting this semester, we are rolling out the parent and student portals. Through these portals, students and parents will be able to: • Access homework assignments • Communicate directly with teachers • Review grades and progress • View financial information and pay their school fees online We are confident that this new system will strengthen communication and make school life easier for both families and staff. Please look out for the initial email set ups for your individual accounts. Thank you for your continued support of our Greek School. Together, we preserve our language, culture, and faith for the next gen- eration. Καλή Χρονιά σε όλους! Happy New Year to all! Με εκτίμηση, Dr. Eleni Sinopoulou San Diego Greek Language School Director December was a busy month! Kathy Meck kicked off the Christmas season with a beau- tiful performance from our Adult and Youth choirs. We were also excited to welcome Aspasia Charalambopoulos to our team of dance di- rectors as the lead of “Kefi,” our second adult dance group. All our dance groups were busy with practic- es this month, but none more than Pelagos who will be going to FDF in February. The group is excited to work with a visiting guest director who will be flying in from Greece at the end of January to work with the dancers on their Florina suite of dances. Tickets are now available for our Dance and Choral School Dinner Dance and FDF Preview event on the evening of Saturday, January 31st starting at 6:00 pm. And you won’t have to pay for a babysitter because for this family-friendly event, kids under 10 are FREE.
