We had the op- portunity to watch every one of your performances and you all did a mag- ni cent job. We are so proud of each and everyone of you! It was great to see so many of you on February 22nd at Bowling last week. is has become a wonder- ful GOYA tradition right a er FDF. Not only do the dancers and singers get to see each other again but those that weren’t able to attend get to hear all the stories of meeting fellow Or- thodox Youth from across our Holy Metropolis. Parents please continue to encourage your GOYAns to attend FDF, Oratorical Festival, Bible Bowl, Youth Retreats and Saint Nicholas Ranch Summer Camp as this is how lasting friendships are formed with your fellow Orthodox Christians. ank you to Renee Maude for or- ganizing bowling and dinner. Please join us on Saturday, March 14th at La Jolla Shores beach at 8 am for our GOYA Lenten Service project. We will meet on the grassy area where we do our Beach Par- ty. As mentioned earlier, we will be cleaning the beach and then break- ing bread together so please plan on arriving at 8 am sharp. What a beau- tiful way to spend time together and help the environment as we continue our Lenten Journey. On April 12th (just SIX weeks away) GOYA will once again have the op- portunity to serve our parish by host- ing the Palm Sunday luncheon. is luncheon is not only the major fund- raiser for GOYA but it is the time that we give back to our parish by hosting a meal before we all continue our Lenten journey into Holy Week. Many hands are needed to make this event a success so please plan to help us set-up on Saturday, April 11th and serve and clean-up on Sunday, April 12th. Parents, we are also looking for donations for the sh dinner so please let us know if you can help pay for the sh, salad makings, rolls, so drinks, wine, water, dessert, oppor- tunity drawing prizes, centerpieces, linens or custodial services for clean- up. is is GOYA’s ONLY fundraiser and we want to continue to fund the ministries we have supported over the past few years which include OCMC (through Deacon Stefanos Ritsi and his family ministering in Albania), Project Mexico and St. Nicholas Ranch & Retreat Center, just to name a few. In May we are changing things up a bit and will be going Kayaking in Coronado on Saturday, May 9th . Please meet at 9:45 am at Tidelands Park (2000 Mullinex Drive, Corona- do, 92118). Lunch will follow at the Frangos home. GOYAns please bring $20 and the GOYA account will cov- er the rest. Parents pick your kids up at 1:45 at the Frangos home. On Sunday, May 10th GOYA will once again continue our wonderful tradi- tion of handing out ˆowers to all the women in our parish.
