8 THE SHEPHERD • MARCH 2020 • SAINT SPYRIDON GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH OF SAN DIEGO e theme for this year’s FDF competition was “Focus - 2020,” and we chose to focus on the strong bonds ˆourishing within our dance and choral community. Six groups represented Saint Spyridon at FDF, including Youth Choir, Livani, Ta Pediakia, Ionians, Aegeans and Pelagos . We are very proud of our Youth Choir for winning 2nd place in the Choral Competition, and also for the Aegeans taking home Costume Award for their Paros costumes. A very big thank you to Niki Dougenis for her absolutely gorgeous cra smanship of these handmade cos- tumes - this award is so well deserved! We will be taking a break to observe Lent, and will resume prac- tices at the end of April to prepare for our church festival per- formances. ank you to all our directors, parents, dancers and singers for a wonderful FDF experience!
