5 THE SHEPHERD • APRIL 2022 • SAINT SPYRIDON GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH OF SAN DIEGO In three short weeks, on April 17th GOYA will once again have the op- portunity to serve our parish by host- ing the Palm Sunday Luncheon . is luncheon is not only the major fund- raiser for GOYA, but it is the time that we give back to our parish by hosting a meal before we all continue our Lenten journey into Holy Week. If you have not already signed up to help, please see me or GOYA Presi- dent Zoe Maude. For the new GOY- Ans and families, GOYA sets up the hall on Saturday, April 16th, following the Saturday of Lazarus Divine Litur- gy, serves the meal on Palm Sunday, April 17th, and cleans up a er the luncheon. Many hands are need- ed (including parents) to make this event a success so please plan to help. Parents, we are also looking for addi- tional donations to cover our remain- ing expenses so please see me if you can help. As you can imagine ALL food costs have gone up this year. We are keeping the pricing the same $25 for adults and $10 for kids under 12. If you have not already done so, please purchase your tickets today by mailing a check to the Church o ce made out to “St. Spyridon GOYA”. We will be o ering a LIMITED number of to-go meals, so please let us know by April 10th if you are interested in this option. is is GOYA’s ONLY fundraiser and we want to continue to fund the ministries we have sup- ported over the years which include OCMC (through Father Stefanos Ritsi and his family ministering in Albania), SoCal Bus to camp and St. Nicholas Ranch & Retreat Center, just to name a few.
