This year, we held a debrief a couple of weeks after FDF to meet with parents, directors, dancers and the Dance and Choral School Board. We evaluated our progress, and brainstormed on what we can do bet- ter in the year to come. It was a great exchange, and we gathered some great insights. The discussion was thoughtful, organized and respect- ful. The weekend before, I attended a Cretan Glendi and was seated next to a woman from a different parish. She told me about the strife at her church with their dance program. Their Board made important deci- sions without consulting with di- rectors, parents or dancers, and had alienated a group of young adults so profoundly that they left and went to dance with another church. When I told her about our program, she lit- erally stared at me open-mouthed. She said we were very lucky and wished her dance program was like ours. I agree and I pray that our pro- gram will continue to foster a posi- tive, supporting environment for our dancers and their families. For the third year in a row, the Dance and Choral School will be offering a Pascha Picnic lunch fundraiser. Leave the cooking to us and enjoy a lamb or ham lunch with all the fix- ings (roasted potatoes, vegetables, salad, feta and olives) for only $35. Bring a dessert and your favorite beverage (we will not be offering beverages for sale) and you are set to enjoy a beautiful day in the park with your fellow parishioners. Be sure to buy your tickets early as there will be no sales in the park and we will have a limited number of meals available.
