8 THE SHEPHERD • APRIL 2026 • SAINT SPYRIDON GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH OF SAN DIEGO “ALL GLORY TO GOD” Too often, our conversations regarding stewardship tend to center on budgets, goals, campaigns, and other worldly out- comes that support our more practical needs as a church community. And while keeping the lights on is important, we should remember that our stewardship journey is meant to contribute to our spiritual formation. Thankfully, our community is blessed with so many examples of stewardship in action that should both inspire and humble us. From the moment we arrive for the Divine Liturgy, we are warmly greeted by a devoted team of Narthex Volunteers, we worship to the angelic voices of our Choir and Chanters and are guided by our Priest and the faithful who serve within the Altar. After Holy Communion, our Sunday School Teachers give their time and effort to educate our children in the Faith and upon dismissal, we are selflessly served by the generous Families and Ministries that arrange for our special time of fellowship. As we depart for home, we are guaranteed to see others, clearing, cleaning, and preparing our hall for our next day together. Every day after that, sees our many ministries, committees, and employees working to serve our communi- ty in an effort to say, “All Glory to God.” And while we can never truly repay God for all we have, we can endeavor to be worthy of His grace and love by minis- tering to others in need. The spirit of stewardship is passed on from generation to generation as a meaningful reflection of what is honorable and good, and it is important that we share and sustain this legacy through our own daily example. Thank you for consistently supporting our parish communi- ty with your gifts of time, talent, and treasure.
