BARR INGTON STEPHAN BARRINGTON DDS 6398 DEL CERRO BLVD, SUITE 1 SAN DIEGO, CA 92120 619.286.1181 DRBARRINGTONSD.COM campus for the past many years be- cause we had been focused on build- ing new buildings to help prepare the future generations that will fol- low (and a huge thank you goes out to those many individuals who have given of their time, talent, treasure and efforts toward that endeavor over the past many years). In that ef- fort, we followed the principle of not putting good money into old build- ings, which was a reasonable and re- sponsible one for that time. Howev- er, the time has now come to repair, refurbish, and maintain our existing buildings and grounds. To be sure, a third motivating factor is that our parish centennial/our one-hundred- year celebration is right around the corner (2027), and the time has come to clean up our house in anticipation of that wonderful event as well. In Closing – having said all the above, the most important message is one of filoxenia/hospitality. On Sunday, June 30th our parish antic- ipates upwards of 400/500 delegates and their families visiting our parish for the Synodal Hierarchical Divine Liturgy. We are the host parish and it’s important they feel and experi- ence our hospitality and love which is Biblically founded and Scriptur- ally sound from both the Old and New Testaments (Gen; 18;1f; Rom. 12;13; Titus 1; 8; I Peter 4:9). Hos- pitality is so important to our faith that I have read somewhere from the Fathers of the Church that hospitali- ty is even more important than per- sonal prayer – wow! As we prepare our parish grounds and facilities let us prepare ourselves to welcome the faithful throughout the entire Greek Archdiocese who will be with us on Sunday, June 30th. End note - for more in-depth in- formation about the 47th National Clergy/Laity Congress and Philop- tochos Convention please visit the Greek Archdiocese of America web- site at www.goarch.org. May we rejoice in the Paschal season of our Risen Lord, +A 1 FR. ANDREW
