ANDREW GEORGE M. PLATIS ORATORICAL SCHOLARSHIP Congratulations to Kaitlyn Dennis and Sia Paraskevopoulos! Both girls were awarded the George M. Platis Or- atorical Scholarship for placing first at our parish level. Kaitlyn was in the Senior Division while Sia was in the Junior Division. They spoke eloquently from the heart about their faith. Your parish is proud of you. We also want to congratulate all our participants. It was a joyful experience to hear James Burrell (Jr. Division), Emma Brown (Jr. Division) and Maria Paraskevopoulos, Elizabeth Dennis, Julianna Welker, Lucas Brown, and James Dennis, all in the non-competitive category share their faith. We are blessed to have a wonderful group of young people in our parish. May God bless them all. Greetings Friends of the Choir, Happy Summer to all! During the summer months, your choir contin- ues to sing weekly praises to God. We hope to continue to see many of you in church. Our Greek Festival was an absolute hit this year. Even the weather did not keep people away. A huge thank you to everyone for all their support, work, pre and post work. We wish our Michael a very, very hap- py birthday! God’s blessings to you! Our Dance and Choral School will have their first fundraiser for the new school year by heading out to a San Diego Loyal game on Sunday, September 24th at 3:00 p.m. I have the honor of singing the Nation- al Anthem at the game. Tickets are $30.00 each which includes a swag bag with goodies inside from the Loyal. Please see the fyer in the bul- letin to purchase tickets. With each ticket purchased, the Loyal will give the Dance and Choral School $5.00 back. The Folk Dance and Choral Festival will be fast approaching and our program needs the funds to par- ticipate. Please help the kids out and also have some fun.
