The bookstore has a wonderful selection of books perfect for your child’s summer reading. Come take a look! A noteworthy book to search for is Spyridon’s Shoes. It is encouraging, uplifting, and faith-strengthening. Written with simple language and great for family out-loud reads. In the book, young Spyros spends his days shing in Corfu and dreams of attending school. When he encoun- ters an elderly man on the beach af- ter an accident, his whole life begins to change. But who is this saintly man he interacts with? Take a short trip back in time to the Greek Island of Corfu and discover the real mys- tery of St. Spyridon’s shoes. Want to add some creativity to your child’s summer. Beautiful Days is a 64-page coloring book for children aged 5-12. As children color the icon of Christ’s baptism or a scene of kids ying kites, they cultivate their own sensibility to beauty, seeing the sa- cred in both liturgical and everyday moments. May this small book bless those children who color and create within its pages. Another book to consider is Shep- herding Sam. It is book one of the “Sam and Saucer” series. This book includes thoughtful undertones that can spark conversations with kids about God and feeling like one doesn’t quite t in. The author uses a lot of humor and animals to pull kids in to reading. We would like to thank Mary Mas- torakos for her generous donation to the bookstore in Memory of Fotini Busarelos . And we would also like to thank Christiann (Arapostathis) Siatras for her generous donation to the bookstore in Memory of Basil (Vasilis) Mourafetis . May their dear memories be eternal! Wishing you all a wonderful and safe summer! Stephanie Mourafetis, Mary Mas- torakos, Pat Tsopanoglou, Collette Pepelis, and Francesca Captain
