NEWS It’s hard to believe that many of you will be starting school this month. I hope your summer has been great, and for those still in summer, enjoy this precious time. GOYA will be busy the next 2 months and we hope to see your smiling faces beginning in August. On Sunday, August 8th , immedi- ately a er Church, GOYA will go to the Padres baseball game as part of Greek Heritage Day at the ballpark. is is also the yearly fundraiser for our Choir so let’s all come together to support them. If you still want to go to the baseball game, please con- tact Mr. Navrides immediately so we can get you tickets. GOYA will pay for all GOYA members’ tickets, but any accompanying family mem- bers will be responsible for the cost of their own tickets. Each ticket is $46.50. If GOYA has already ordered tickets for your family, please mail a check to Mr. Navrides made out to “St. Spyridon GOYA” so the GOYA account can get reimbursed. GOYA purchased 25 tickets in July and at press time we still had a few le . We are excited that so many of you will be joining us for the game. We will ALL meet at Church and worship the Divine Liturgy together, and then head to the game about 11:45 am. We can carpool and leave some of the cars in the Church parking lot which will save on parking. As we all know Sunday a ernoon can be quite busy at the ballpark. GOYA has the honor and privilege to host co ee hour on Sunday, August 15th for the Dormition of the Holy eotokos. By now you have seen an email from Mr. Navrides with what is still needed to make this a digni ed and beautiful co ee hour in honor of our Holy Mother. Please make a point to be in Church on Sunday, August 15th and arrive early to help set up the hall. All proceeds from this co ee hour will support the GOYA ministries. On Saturday, September 25th GOYA will be hosting a movie night for you and your entire family. Please bring your families, appetites, beach chair and blankets and join us in the Church parking lot for GOYA movie night. Dinner will be served at 5:45 pm and we will have all the usual movie treats. Prior to the movie, we will be holding elections for o cers, so if you would like to run for an o ce, please plan on attending this event. Once the new board is elected for 2021-2022, we will work on the GOYA calendar of events for the rest of the year. Lastly, please save Sunday, January 9, 2022 for the annual St. Spyridon Epiphany Cross Dive and luncheon celebration. All GOYA members in 7th to 12th grade who have not al- ready retrieved the cross are eligi- ble to dive. Please also save Sunday, April 17, 2022 for the annual GOYA Palm Sunday luncheon (the same day as Western Easter).
