Our monthly gatherings resume Tuesday, September 8th at 11a.m. with lunch, bingo, and fel- lowship. We’ll share details about our October 17th day trip to the St. Nicholas of Temecula Valley Greek Festival. Alexandra Mouzas, as organizer of the St. Spyridon Centennial Cele- bration, will highlight plans for next year’s exciting 100th Anniversary. She will also collect any photos and /or memorabilia you would like the Historical Committee to document and preserve for generations to come. In recognition of the Centenni- al Celebration, our Young at Heart ministry is sponsoring production of a special video documenting trea- sured memories from our senior parishioners. Video interviews will be filmed on Saturday, October 3rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Hellen- ic Cultural Society Room. We need you to help us preserve St. Spyridon’s history! Please consider sharing a cherished memory from years past. The interview process will be easy, informal, and brief – five minutes or less. Simply introduce yourself, mention when you joined St. Spyridon, and share your favorite memory. Whether your memory is about the old church on 25th Street, Park Bou- levard, a beloved priest, teacher or parishioner, Sunday School, Greek School, the Greek Festival, or simply a special moment with family and friends, we would love to hear your story. A wonderful update from our recent committee meeting! So much work is underway, and we were pleased to hear and share terrific committee reports, budget updates, and discus- sions about upcoming events, such as press releases, schedule of events, senior video day, ongoing photo and memorabilia collections. Please don’t wait for the last minute! Bring your photos, well marked and wrapped, to the church office, including any historical memorabilia. They will be safely stored in the Hellenic Cultural Society Room. Our History Committee has uncov- ered some amazing finds, descen- dants of founding families dating back to 1906!
