6 THE SHEPHERD • SEPTEMBER 2026 • SAINT SPYRIDON GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH OF SAN DIEGO Dear students, families and friends of our Greek School, We are excited to welcome all families to the new school year, beginning the week of Sep- tember 1st. This marks our second year with our redesigned curriculum, and we are proud to continue strengthening our program with consistency, structure, and meaningful learning experiences. Registrations are now open, and you can find the registration link on our Facebook and redesigned webpage page, along with the full school schedule. All children’s classes will run from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM with no break, ensuring maxi- mum learning time while keeping students focused. Adult classes will take place from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, while our Tiny Greeks program will meet on Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. These adjustments help families avoid traffic delays and provide smoother, more consistent instruction. Tuition for the year is as follows: adult classes are $310 per semester, children’s classes are $295 per semester, and Ellinomatheia classes are $475 per semester (for all classes price is plus supplies and books). The Ellinomatheia program is the only class offered twice per week, with one day online. The Tuesday ses- sion runs for two hours online, while the Friday session is one hour and thirty min- utes in person. If your child is Level 6 and has not yet taken the placement test and are interested in participating, they may still do so before registering. We kindly remind all families to ensure that parents, guardians, and students are fully registered in DreamClass, as all commu- nication will be sent through the platform. Homework, grades, announcements, and important updates will be posted there, so it is essential that your account is active and up to date. To ensure a productive and fair learning en- vironment, students in Levels 1–6 must not miss more than four classes per semester. A minimum grade of 70% is required to ad- vance to the next level, based on exams, par- ticipation, and homework. Parent‑teacher conferences will be held at the end of each semester, with dates already scheduled for January and May. Tiny Greeks families will also have check‑ins at the end of each semes- ter to share progress and answer questions. We are committed to deepening the changes we began last year, providing stability, and continuing to raise the bar for Greek edu- cation in San Diego. Your involvement and encouragement make a lasting impact on your child’s success, and we thank you for being part of our school community. MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
