As the second largest Christian philanthropic organization in the Western Hemisphere, with 27,000 members in 400 chapters across the country including our beloved Anthousa chapter here at our St. Spyridon. e mission of Philoptochos is to promote charitable, benevolent and philan- thropic outreach to preserve the sanctity of life and family, to perpetuate and promote our Orthodox faith and traditions, and to help those in need. e foundation of our local Anthousa Philoptochos Chapter is not only to support our own church community and beyond through our ongoing year-round activities. A very special thank you to Jenny Capeta- nakis, Andreas Capetanakis, and Irene Veca for working closely with the FOCUS Chari- ty to prepare 150 meals for homeless in San Diego. e mission of FOCUS is to serve the poor by bringing together Orthodox Chris- tian churches and community partners to provide Food, Occupation, Clothing, and Shelter. We continue to support the e orts of FOCUS on the second Wednesday of every month from 3pm to 6:00pm. Members AND Non-Members: Looking for ways to help?
