YOUNG AT HEART SENIORS STEWARDSHIP OF THE SELF As Orthodox Christians, we are called to be good stewards—not only of our churches, relationships, and the world around us, but also of ourselves. This includes our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Stewardship is one of the most fundamental aspects of our walk with Christ. Yet how often do we consider our personal health as part of that sacred responsibility? It might seem trivial, but it makes perfect sense: there is an undeniable con- nection between our personal well-being and our ability to serve as active, valuable members of the Body of Christ. When we neglect our own health— physically, emotionally, or spiritually—we can find ourselves unable to fully love, serve, or give as we are called to. Self-care is not an indulgence, so it is important that we remember to set time aside to pray, read Scripture, rest, reflect, create, connect with nature, connect with others, and practice gratitude or even forgiveness. These simple habits enrich not only our health and quality of life but also deepen our communion with Christ. By being faithful stewards of ourselves, we become more present, more compassionate, and more effective in our ser- vice to others. The Stewardship Committee: Ben De La Riva, Jim Gilpin, Bill Navrides, Timmy Paraskevopoulos, Stephen Thiros, Nektarios Tradas, and Spero Tzathas STEWARDSHIP CORNER Parish Council Elections will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025 . The Application for Candidacy for Election is available by contacting the Church Office or by direct download from the newsletter website theshepherdnews.com .
