More than 60 members attended our monthly gathering. Thank you Vicky Mellos, Jenny Capetanakis and Niki Dougenis, for preparing the delicious lunch of baked ham, spaghetti bolognese and salad greens. Thanks also to the kitchen and hall helpers and to all who brought desserts to share! And our sincere appreciation to Voula and Maureena Parashos who sponsored the lunch in loving memory of Voula’s husband Peter. After lunch, President Nick Pappas gave us a background his- tory on the Ancient Greek Kingdom of Pylos, ahead of our excursion to the Getty Villa Museum. On November 19th, we filled a tour bus with 52 Young at Heart members and parishioners for the trip to Malibu. Once there, we enjoyed an outdoor catered lunch. We were lucky to have two docents give our large group a fascinating tour of the beautiful grounds. Afterwards, we visited the museum’s vast Greek, Roman and Etrurian collections, including the Pylos exhibition. Thank you to our church who helped to defray the costs for this special day! Next up is our end of the year Christmas lunch and holiday program. Make plans to attend on Tuesday, December 9th . Our talent- ed Canadian / San Diegan member Eleni Petropoulos will play piano and lead us in a Christmas Carols sing- a-along. Don’t forget to wear your Christmas red and green!
