The Stewardship Committee: Ben De La Riva, Jim Gilpin, Bill Navrides, Timmy Paraskevopoulos, Stephen Thiros, Nektarios Tradas, and Spero Tzathas STEWARDSHIP CORNER BOOKSTORE Having begun the Nativity Fast and as we enter the holiday season, we have entered a rich time in our lives as Orthodox Christians. Advent brings to us a reminder of “spiritu- al renewal,” a time to grow in our Orthodox faith and to share it with others. As the Gospel of John (1:14) states, “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth.” It is important for us to be- come more aware of God’s presence in our lives and to share His pres- ence with others. So why not share an Orthodox Christian gift or book to give this Christmas season? We have a wonderful selection of Christ- mas books for children of all ages. And for adults we have an insightful read: Meditations for Advent, Pre- paring for Christ’s Birth, which takes us through the hymnography, Scrip- ture readings, and iconography for the 40 days leading up to the Nativity of Christ, showing how a full under- standing of the Incarnation can en- rich our spiritual lives. We will be selling lovely Nativity ornaments, either glass or wood- en. Come see our unique Orthodox wooden items hand made by, A Car- penter’s Son. Additionally, we still have some treasures from monaster- ies in Greece that would make great gifts. From books, cards, icons, orna- ments, to jewelry, there is something for everyone! We thank you for supporting our St. Spyridon Bookstore this year. We wish our parishioners and friends a blessed Christmas season, and a healthy New Year!
